The Best is our reputation

Log Homes of the Smokies began over 20 years ago with the goal of providing a quality product with excellent customer service.  With over 50 years of log home experience, our founders believed that to produce a log home that will give years of satisfaction and enjoyment, we must begin by making sure the needs of the clients are matched with the designs and services of Log Homes of the Smokies.  We believe that remaining a small family-owned company will allow us to best serve our customers and give them the attention they deserve.  While we desire to stay true to the traditions of southern Appalachian log home designs, we also seek to use the convenience and quality of modern technology to offer the best quality homes available.  Located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Log Homes of the Smokies looks forward to seeing how we can help you realize your dream of log home living.

The Whitetail Series

The Whitetail Series of plans provides our customers with an expanded view of what a Log Home can become.  While using the same log structure as found in our traditional plans the Whitetail plans incorporate different design features to give a more custom look and individual appeal from which to begin working with.  Ranging from a 1 bedroom hunting cabin to a 4 bedroom luxury home, the Whitetail Series can help you upgrade your Log Home experience.

More plans

Our plans are based on traditional Appalachian-style homes blended with modern technology and conveniences to create a home that exists easily in both worlds.  Using landmark names found within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, our plans bring the spirit of America’s early pioneers into the current age of style, design, comfort and safety.  All of our plans can be customized to meet your needs.  We also offer design services for a completely customized plan if you so desire.

how can we help?

Yes, all of our plans can be changed to meet your specific needs.

While we offer a wide range of designs, feel free to bring your own plans to us.  We can convert a conventional frame home to a log home as well.

As with all homes, maintenance is crucial to the longevity of the structure.  We recommend a quality stain and sealer designed especially for log homes.  Depending on environmental factors the home will need to be re-sealed every 4 to 5 years on average.

All of our “packages” are customized to meet the needs of the customer.  As a result, no two packages are alike.  However, we do provide as part of our contract, a detailed list of every item that will be sent to your site.

No.  Our logs are random length with pre-cut corners.  This allows the construction crew the luxury of being able to adjust the product to the variables that are found on every job-site.  Random length logs also help keep cost down.

Since we price each home based on the customers choices, prices can vary.  However, on average a log home will usually cost the equivalent of a custom built brick home.  We strongly recommend that you obtain an estimate from a qualified general contractor for the full cost of your home.

While we are not a construction company we can provide “dry-in” services in certain locations in the Southeastern U.S..  We are also able to provide consultation by phone or on-site for an additional fee.

Yes. Along with your construction contract the plans are the most important document of the construction process.  Your plans are a representation of what you are looking for in your completed home and they give guidance to all trades that may work on your home.

We will ship anywhere in the continental United States as well as Canada and Mexico.

Our standard log home is built from Eastern White Pine timbers.  We also use Douglas Fir in many of our timber products as well as Western Red Cedar.  These are the species that offer the highest quality home.

Yes, We have experience in both structural designs and would be happy to talk with you about either product.
